Chancellor visits UCI students in Washington, D.C. Michael Drake engages undergraduates pursuing summer internships at UCDC Center Washington, D.C., July 14, 2005 Chancellor Michael Drake recently sat down with UCI students who are spending the summer in Washington, D.C. The students are participating in the UCDC summer internship program, which brings students from University of California campuses directly to the nation’s capital, where each gains hands-on experience with local internships – at sites ranging from government agencies and congressional offices to think tanks and nonprofit organizations. UCDC participant Claudine Soriano, a senior sociology major, has shared her impressions of meeting the chancellor as part of her ongoing series of reports during her internship.
