He can discuss the antitrust and fair-competition implications of potential mergers or partnerships between Yahoo and Google or Microsoft. McKenzie is an author and professor of economics and public policy at UC Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business and is a nationally recognized expert on the Microsoft antitrust case. His latest book, In Defense of Monopoly, challenges the common notion that all monopolies are inherently detrimental to consumers and economic markets and argues that a certain degree of monopoly helps spur healthy competitive innovation.
