MEDIA TRAINING PROCESS

Media training involves three primary steps: technical preparation, a taped interview and post-taping review.

Step 1: Technical Preparation
When you arrive at the broadcast studio for media training, you will be briefed on how the “live” interview will be conducted. You’ll get a chance to see how the system works and what to expect before you go “on air.”

Step 2: Taped Interview
You will be asked a series of questions about your work or research. The questions are designed to increase your comfort in various interview formats. The session will run about 15 minutes in length and will be videotaped for review.
Step 3: Review
The final step involves review and analysis of the taped interview. Fine points of on-camera presentation and content delivery are discussed and suggestions are made for improvement.
